he was just up the road making deals for souls

surprisingly in good health
except a few burns from eternities in hell
says it gives him a story to tell

i could see he had his eyes on me
a young kid who was scrappy as could be
at the tender age of 19

mr. fire-in-your-eyes
i've got a sick strain, 2 guns
and past full of sin and lies

devil: "i think i've seen your type a time or two
born to run, ain't got shit else to lose
except for maybe those blues"

now it's such a long walk home
i shook the devil's hands
and he left me all alone
said i won't need a friend where i'm going

so i went back to the daily grind
waited for the deal to show some life
turns out the devil is just
a man who likes to tell a few lies
